The Dare to Care commodities food programs can help you each month getting food staples into your home.

The Cub Scout and Boy Scout troops and Dens of Oldham County help to keep hunger away.

Each November they do a county wide food drive. All items collected go toward feeding the hungry. The food we receive from the scouts also fills Christmas food boxes that families receive during the holidays.

Each year The Oldham County Red Cross receives over 10,000 cans of food from the scouts. This food is sorted and distributed into food boxes that Oldham County residents can receive quarterly.

The Red Cross Food Bank is open from 2pm to 4pm Monday – Friday.

Call the Red Cross for an appointment to pick up your food box.

This program is limited to one food box every 3 months.

Donate Food

Food donations are accepted at any time. If you are doing a food drive and collect more food than you can bring, we can pick it up for your group. Please call to set up an appointment or if you need more information on setting up a food drive.

If you are on the commodities program the following are the dates to pick up your commodities for the rest of 2009.

July 23; August 20; September 17; October 22; November 19;
December 17. Commodity distribution is between 2 and 4pm
